If you come across a problem on a path whilst out walking it needs to be reported to the relevant authority for them to resolve.
You can raise the issue yourself by logging onto the relevant website.
If possible, you should take two photos of the problem and record 'what3words' for the precise location.

Bedfordshire: Problems reported in Bedfordshire get reviewed and addressed in different ways, but it's important to report it first.
They either use their inhouse team or a contractor to fix the problems or given to us to address in the Ramblers RIPPLE team.
(Similar actions occur for Buckinghamshire with some tasks given to their Ramblers RIPPLE team.)

Northamptonshire: Both West Northants and North Northants councils use Fix my Street  https://www.fixmystreet.com/
However, the website can be a little confusing and counter intuitive. On the Report your Problem page you have to click on ‘Rights of Way’ not ‘Footway/Footpath’. If you click on footway/footpath it will only let you proceed if the problem is on a footway next to a road.
