To Castle Ashby & Back - Thursday 29th October 2026

Leader: Steve Clark

10 hardy walkers were on the walk to Castle Ashby and back, plus Alfie. We left our cars and skirted the Northampton Washlands, then headed for Gt Houghton. Up the hill through Gt Houghton we then headed into the countryside heading for Preston Deanery where we had our morning T-break. As we left Preston Deanery we passed some very large mushrooms, (the like I have never seen before) heading for Hackleton and on to Denton where we had our lunch break.

After lunch we skirted Castle Ashby and then on to Cogenhoe for a quick water stop. From Cogenhoe it was back to the cars. It was cloudy, but not a cold day. All my photos are on my web site…www.steveceegalleries.smugmug.com

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
