BBN AGM – Sunday 29th November I am pleased to report that nominations have been received for BBN’s three officer positions and for 6 of the 7 committee member roles. Nominations for the remaining committee position can be made at the AGM.
We are also looking for an Independent Examiner of our accounts as Dave Yorston will be standing down. The Independent Examiner can be a member of the group, but not a committee member. If you can help, or would like more information about the role, please contact Treasurer Jim Blakelock bbn.treasurer@ldwa.org.uk Some experience of bookkeeping would be ideal. The BBN financial year runs from 1st October to 30th September.
The AGM Lunch - Sunday 29th November Following the morning walk from Yardley Hastings Memorial Hall, the AGM meal will be at the nearby Rose & Crown at 12.30pm. Your meal must be pre-ordered Menu Please email your food choices to Alan acleadbetter64@gmail.com It would be helpful if you could let Alan have your meal choices as soon as you can, but by 22nd November at the latest. Note earlier 9am start time due to the shorter day length. From Harrold Odell Country Park, Carlton Road, Harrold, MK43 7DS. There’s no charge for parking (there’s a donation box). There may be a pub stop in Sharnbrook but, to be on the safe side, please bring all the food and drink you’ll need for the day. Well behaved dogs are welcome in accordance with LDWA policy. FKT Buckinghamshire Way (Fastest Known Time) - Sha Khan Sha has been in touch – here is his event record - what a fantastic achievement this is! Hi I’m a new member & have done a few walks with the London group. I’ve been training to get the FKT & people have asked me to keep them posted. I am Blind & live in Milton Keynes. I was looking for something challenging & for the route on the LDWA website, so being local, decided I will be that example of what’s possible. My biggest weapon is walking & I always use my platform to say that Disability is not inability. I am extremely proud of my FKT & wanted to share my achievement which I could not have done without support from the local walking & trail running community - amazing humans. Warm regards Sha
