The walk roughly followed the old Otley 9 Leagues Challenge route, but also touched The Blubberhouses, Rombald Stride and Welcome Way routes. We started from Surprise View CP through the woods on the Chevin down the Old Pool Bank road, through fields to Leathley, up to Norwood where there was some discussion on whether the dam at Swinsty would be open, luckily it was. Next on the route was Timble and then Denton where we had to re-route due to a foot path closure. We decided to walk down to Ben Rhydding and then climb the steep path straight up to the Cow & Calf rocks. Following the ridge to Burley Woodhead and then via Bleach Mill to Menston, where we then climbed the rocky path back up to the top of the Chevin.
Thanks to all participants as it was a group navigational effort in some places.
