Walk Leader: Andy Miller
Participants: 20
Mileage: 23.5 miles
Ascent: 4,300 ft
Walk Register: Yes
Walk Report: Robert Cope

Twenty enthusiastic volunteers gathered for our inaugural Marshals walk for the forthcoming Kettlewell Challenge event.  A grey and overcast day with quite poor visibility at the start, but a little warmer and brighter by the time we reached Grassington.  Thankfully there was no rain for once and we "enjoyed" some rather gusty wind assistance towards the end of the day.

We followed the planned Challenge route meticulously (well at least most of us did!) starting at Kettlewell Village Hall and visiting Capplestone Gate, Grassington, Linton, Wood Nook, Street Gate and Hawkswick.

All in all it was a tough day's outing but thoroughly enjoyed by all.  There was plenty of banter and good humour and it was a good opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the route, the checkpoints and our respective duties for this new event.

Thanks come from Andy for the good turnout and constructive comments - and our thanks in turn to him for the pork pies, pasties and yum yums!  We all look forward to a successful event in two weeks time.
