We set off from Helmsley market place where my intention was to try and pick the best possible route to keep us out of the mud. In the morning we took the Tabular Hills Walk north to reach Riccall Dale Wood.
We then joined another good track all the way to the top of Cowhouse Bank Wood. We then turned east to reach the small church at Church Plantation (No Name) where we had a break .
We then crossed numerous fields and a few Footbridges to reach Hasty Bank Farm and then on to Riccall Dale where we had lunch. This section of the walk changed and was very muddy .
After Lunch we continued uphill to reach a track and following numerous paths took us back to Helmsley.
We had members from numerous groups today, N Yorks, E Yorks, S Pennine, The Irregulars and a new member from Ripon. Another excellent group who although the going was a bit tough at times never complained.
