Weather: Cold at start but soon warmed up. Sunny.

We set off from Goathland and took the FP past the Mallyan Spout Hotel to Beck Hole. From Beck Hole we continued on the track all the way to Grosmont.  From Grosmont we joined the Esk Valley Walk path.  At Hecks Wood we had our first break of the day.

After our break we then continued  all the way to Sleights.  From Sleights we joined a series of Footpaths to climb out of Iburndale to reach Pasture Field Lane where we had lunch on a bench.

We then took the lane to the Hamlet of Ugglebarnby , just before reaching Ugglebarnby we joined Tom Bell lane which took us along and then down to Throstle Nest on the Little Beck river.  From Throstle Nest we then joined the riverside path going over a series of Stepping Stones / Fords and then a footbridge to reach a road section which took us up to the rear of the car park at Blue Bank on the A 169.

After crossing the very busy A169 we joined a well established track and fp section going round Arundel Hill  all the way back to Goathland.
