We set off from Sandsend Car Park and then started to climb multiple sets of wooden flights of stairs. This brought us out to join The Cleveland Way. We continued on this good track passing through Runswick Bay, Port Mulgrave, and eventually reaching Staithes where we had our first break of the day. After our break we proceeded along a series of woodland tracks and then footpaths to reach Newton Mulgrave where we had our lunch stop.

 

After Lunch we continued on public footpaths to reach Ellerby. From Ellerby we took a short road section before rejoining permissive paths and tracks to reach Goldsborough. From Goldsborough we continued on a track and another short road section to return to the Cleveland Way and then back to Sandsend.

 

As always, our leader was at the top of his game which made for an excellent day. It was also good to return to Sandsend after a couple of years walking in other areas.
