Weather: | Overcast, humid at times but good weather for walking all day |
We followed a path through Nutwith Common to Horsepasture Hill, over fields with great views. We walked around the back of Grewelthorpe, Kirkby Malzeard and onto Braithwaite Hall (a beautiful very old hall which is privately owned), then passing through Azerley and on to Frizer Hill where we had to make a detour due to overgrown foliage. Break at Mickley Village Hall. We then walked through Hackfall Woods and followed the River Burn where second break was overlooking the river. We continued along the Ripon Rowell route to Sole Beck Gill, again having to take a detour for overgrown bracken. Once at Ilton we followed a path over Galloper with great views of Rosebery Topping and the Cleveland Hills, returning to cars via Nutwith Common.
Thank you to all those who came along, it was a great day.
