We met at Osmotherley on a very busy Saturday morning as there was a Village Fete on for one of the Cancer Charities.
All members were welcomed and after our routine of paperwork and had a short discussion about the previous night's football match. This discussion continued throughout most of the morning where as the only "Jock on the Walk '' I fought my corner .All good Fun .
From the village centre  we took a footpath through St John,s Church to then take a Lane to Foxton Mill and then continue to Thimbleby .
From Thimbleby we continued along Sandpit Lane (Track) on our first climb of the day to reach Hanging Stone on Thimbleby Bank Plantation.
We then took a well used bridleway to reach the village of Over Silton where on our Recce on a previous Saturday we were advised by a local gent to have a look at St Mary,s Church where they are in the process of making good years of neglect .St Mary,s Church stands in a Field outside Over Silton but we were informed by the same gent that the village used to be where the church now stands .Worth a visit .
We had our first stop of the day at the church and had a relaxing break before crossing fields to reach Nether Silton, another lovely village and then a series of Lanes/Footpaths and an uphill climb on the Road took us to the village of Kepwick .
This was the Highlight of the day all talk of football was gone as we were all amazed at the display of Purple Rhododendrons  on the hillside of Howe Hill ,Atlay Bank , and then a serious uphill climb through a continuous corridor of another display of  the largest Rhododendrons on each side to then reach Black Hill and our second stop of the day .
After our break we took the footpath up Gallow Hill and a further Bridleway to reach the Cleveland Way and White Gill Head ,Hambleton Street (Track) to Square Corner  where we had a drinks stop .
After our stop we took the downhill path to Oak Dale , but if you go down you always have to go back up we then crossed the Footbridge and did our last climb of the day to get back to Osmotherley where by this time the Village Fete was in Full Swing ,Jazz Bands Playing and all sorts of Stalls and displays around the village
We managed to get served with Coffees and scones which has now become customary after our walks where the banter and humour continues to a very high standard .
It was good to see members from other groups  join us today and to sum up Our walk and Group "Quality Pure Quality"

Carol won a bottle of Red,  Liyang won a box of Chocolates in our Raffles
Well Done you both .

Over the next few months (Summer Months) we have walks planned for Orton, Ravenstonedale ,High Cup Nick, This is to repay our neighbours from the North East and Northumbria group who have supported us on a regular basis by travelling long distances to join us on our walks. We go to them instead of them coming to us .

Again Thank You for the Donation for Autism Plus
