Daffodils yes - but lots of other interesting sights on this walk as well!  A chilly and at times windy day, but thankfully dry and with sunny intervals.

Heading south initially, and following broadly the route of the River Dove, we joined the Tabular Hills Walk briefly for a short climb before dropping down into Hutton-le-Hole.  From there we headed east along the southern perimeter of Spaunton Moor to Lastingham for our morning coffee stop.  We then turned north and climbed (and climbed) Lastingham Ridge, finally descending steeply into Rosedale.  Leaving Rosedale we climbed onto Rosedale Moor picking up and following the old disused railway track.  This track, carved into the side of the valley, provides fantastic panoramic views across the valley whilst passing right by the monumental industrial remains (kilns) of Rosedale's once-thriving iron industry.  What a contrast!

Following a late lunch stop at Dale Head Farm cafe, we dropped down into the valley before immediately climbing out of it, up and over Blakey Ridge and then down again and into Church Houses in Farndale!  The final leg of our journey comprised the very pleasant and relaxing "daffodil walk" alongside the River Dove and back to Low Mill.

A great day out combining terrific scenery and interesting industrial history.  Thanks Andy for expert guidance and a well planned route.
