Mileage: 18 miles
Walk Report: Andy Miller

We set off in thick fog taking the track downhill through the woods to Glebe farm passing the holiday accommodation!  We then took a narrow track/path skirting Yewtree Scar leading then to Hudson's Cross a steep downhill took us to the footbridge and along the side of the river to grid reference 830/947!!  We then took a steep uphill path which was part of The Crosses I was informed by one of the more experienced and senior members of the group - much more experienced than myself !!!  We then located the track which took us to Wardle Rigg!  From Wardle Rigg we took The Tandem route in reverse across Simon Howe Rigg to Goathland!!

After our late morning coffee stop we joined the disused railway track passing Sadler House and Moorgates bringing us out on the road!  After a bit of road walking and some careful road crossing we reached Eller Beck bridge we then took the Bridleway to Lilla cross where we enjoyed a late lunch!

As it then was turning cold we upped the pace and headed along a good track for RAF Fylingdales then taking the track south to Malo Cross then heading uphill on The Saltergate circuit back to the car park!

Once again I would like to thank everyone for being such a great group and as I have forgotten in past all backmarkers / sweepers for special mention. Thank you!  My first walk in years with a dog in the group no problem very well behaved but it will not become a regular occurrence!

Great Team Effort !!!!
