A group of 17 of us made a weekend of it at Bellingham to walk from Deadwater, where the North Tyne river springs from the ground, all the way to Waters' Meet at Warden, near to Chesters on the Hadrian's Wall. We were blessed with excellent weather if a little chilly each morning and really enjoyed the woodland stretches and the Kielder Water south shore path. Next we will be tackling the South Tyne river section from near Garigill in the Pennine Hills down to the same Waters' Meet, in March 2024. The group was made up of Lakeland, Cumbria and West Yorkshire Group members and it is a lovely example of cross group socialising.
