Windermere Wanders Windermere to Ambleside May 2022

May saw us tackling a group of 14 Wainwrights taking in a huge loop from Windermere Railway Station through to Ambleside.  There are much quicker ways to travel between these two towns, but probably nothing ever could be so scenic (or exhausting).  We had a brilliant day, thank goodness for the pub at Kirkstone Pass for refreshing tea, beer and Guiness to help us round.  This marks the start of what we hope will be a full circuit of the Wainwrights in a long stringy loop - it will take us years to achieve but will be fun along the way.
