Route
Garsdale railway station. Start time fits in with the Leeds train arriving at 09:20 and a train from Kirkby Stephen (where some may want to leave their car) which departs KS at 08:50, arriving Garsdale at 09:02. Free parking at both stations

Route is 21 miles, with 2700’ ascent, over the eastern tops of the Mallerstang valley, a high level walk with superb 360 views in good weather.  Dropping down to the B6270 then a few kms east towards Keld before joining the Coast to Coast over 9 Standards Rigg and back to Kirkby Stephen railway station for car or train. Aim to catch 17:15 train back to Garsdale

General Notes
If conditions don't suit this high level walk, a foul weather alternative route will be followed, dropping into the valley using Lady Anne’s Way
