From Brickfields to Country Park - Thursday 9th February

25 walkers, 16 miles

Roy took us back in time to the Brickfields of the Marston Vale. Walking through the Country Park of today it was hard to imagine what the area was like when the biggest brickworks of the country were here, though coming from Bedford I can well remember all the chimneys. 

Forest Centre - Millbrook Testing Ground - Aspley Guise for lunch - Hulcote - new paths through the country park -  back through the churchyard of Marston Moretaine church, unusual with its detached tower.

Lots of historic information made it a very interesting walk, thank you Roy.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
