The sign on the lunchtime pub (The Red Lion, Chenies) said it was an "autarkic free house".  I had to look that up; it means self-sufficient.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
