Hello Everyone
Frank Jackson
I am sorry to begin with some very sad news. We have just learnt that Frank has passed away. He had not walked with us for some time due to various health issues but led walks for us in past years from Bromham, where he lived, He also helped on some of our challenge events. Frank was a lovely jolly man and cheerful company on a walk. Though he hadn’t walked with us for a while, he kept in touch and was always looking to the future. “I'm getting gradually back into the groove and will take up a couple of vacant social walk slots within the next couple of weeks.” He will be missed.

London Group are walking from Wendover on Saturday
Saturday 15th August - Wendover Tops
Distance: 20 miles Start Time: 9:20 from Wendover Railway Station. To Coombe Hill (highest viewpoint in the Chilterns) then through assorted woods to the county tops of Haddington Hill (Buckinghamshire) and Pavis Wood (Hertfordshire).
The lunch stop will be by the Wendover Woods café (the only public toilets on the route). There will be no other opportunity to get food and drink on the route until we return to Wendover (Morrisons and pubs) so make sure you have sufficient for the pre-lunch and post-lunch sections.

LDWA Podcasts
Can I finish by saying that I listened to the two podcasts mentioned in the LWDA's August update. I had never bothered to listen before, but got them on my phone and listened while working at the allotment yesterday morning, and jolly interesting they both were.
Podcast 4 - Julian White (LDWA Communications & Publicity) is talking to Richard May (LDWA IT) about the new digital platform due to launch in early 2027. As the LDWA email says, Richard talks of the website, the app, gamification .....and lots of other bits and pieces that will be relevant to us all in the next year or so. It is really interesting.
