Route
An undulating (1500ft ascent) circular walk starting from Great Offley, Hertfordshire. Park in the High Street near St Mary Magdalen church, or respectfully in nearby residential roads - Salusbury Lane, Gosling Avenue, Clarion Close and meet at the junction of High Street and Salusbury Lane.
We follow the North Chiltern Trail, Hertfordshire section, anticlockwise through Mangrove Green, Breachwood Green, Peters Green, Whitwell, St Pauls Walden, Chapelfoot, Preston and back to Great Offley. Morning break at Breachwood Green, Lunch stop at St Pauls Walden - pub for drinks only
General Notes
This is the first part of a trail that Chris Burns wanted to do, she had the ‘guide book’ but unfortunately, she ran out of time to get it done. We are working from that guidebook and hope that you will all remember Chris's enthusiasm & humour when you walk with us today. Part 2, the Bedfordshire section, will be walked on another day in September.
