A Thank You to Gill & Sara Walk - Thursday 3rd September Sara presented RoyD with a BBN mug for leading his first walk for us Photos: Steve Clark
Hello Everyone
New Members A very warm welcome to new members Dawn Bailham (Primary) and Eithne Russell (Associate) - we look forward to meeting you on one of our group walks or challenge events.
A message from Graham Thursday's Walk, Marston Forest Centre Following our walk on Thursday, I stupidly left my walking poles by the side of my car and drove home without them. On arriving home once I realised I drove back straight away but they were not where I left them. I spoke to the staff at the Centre and no one has handed them in. I wondered if anyone in our group had picked them up. Many thanks Graham Busch g.busch1@live.co.uk
Photos A Thank You to Gill & Sara Walk - Thursday 3rd September And a thank you to RoyD for a very enjoyable day out in the Bedfordshire countryside. Sara presented Roy with a BBN mug for leading his first walk for us. And what a great walk it was - a beautiful day, lots of sunshine, a few climbs early on, great views across the Marston Vale, and a very sociable lunch stop at The Swan, Cranfield. Report and Photos
Social Walks in September
Walking The North Chiltern Trail in Memory of Chris Burns We are walking this Trail in memory of our good friend Chris Burns who sadly died last November. Chris had the NCT guide book but, unfortunately, she ran out of time to get it done. We are working from that guidebook and will be remembering Chris's enthusiasm and humour as we walk. We will be walking the Trail as two circular walks, one in Hertfordshire and the other in Bedfordshire. No booking is required and either can be walked as a normal social walk. It would be useful, though, if you could let both leaders know if you plan to attend (details below).

She was a bright, sunny person, always cheerful, and we’ll miss her tremendously. I don’t believe we’ll see her like again. Terry Brown. Photo: Terry - Wainwright bagging week in the Lake District, September 2023

There’s a fine line between a numerator and a denominator. (…only a fraction of people will get this joke.) What do dentists call their x-rays? Tooth pics! Did you hear about the first restaurant to open on the moon? Great food, but no atmosphere. Why did the bullet end up losing his job? He got fired. How do you measure a snake? In inches - they don’t have feet. What about the cheese factory that exploded in France? There was nothing left but de Brie.
No Tuesday News next week – back on 22nd September.
