Cross Bucks Way - Donate A Gate

Last year a small BBN team completed a survey of the Cross Bucks Way (CBW), which was at threat of being removed from the LDWA Long Distance Paths register. We provided a full report and the CBW was reinstated. We also notified Buckinghamshire County Council of the very poor condition of many of the stiles. In total we identified 16 items for remediation. The committee agreed to fund the replacement of one of the broken stiles with a gate under the “Donate a Gate” scheme.
I am pleased to report that the gate has now finally been installed and has a plaque recognising our donation.  
The location is Footpath 6 Marsh Gibbon, GR SP647238.
I’m looking forward to seeing it soon, as part of the recce ahead of the “CBW in a day” on Saturday 11th July.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
