Hello Everyone

Roger Story

I am sorry to bring you the very sad  news that Roger has passed away. Roger was a regular BBN walker and leader for many years. He led many enjoyable walks for us in the Northants area he knew so well ….. with intriguing names like Horses for Courses, Around and About, A Bit of a Chase, By Canal and Roade, Over the Border Down Foxton Way, Parts that Other Walks Haven't Reached, A Covert Walk..... Those of us who knew him will remember a lovely man, a great Saints fan, and an excellent walking companion.
Roger’s funeral service will take place at Northampton Crematorium on 27th July at 2.30pm. Afterwards at the Northampton Casuals Rugby Club, Rushmills House, Bedford Road, NN4 7AA. RSPV to Wendy 07870 435187

New Members
A very warm welcome to new Primary member Tess Harker. Tess has already walked with us, coming on Jim’s Marsworth Meander on Saturday.
Also, welcome to new Associate members Phillip Farrow and John Scothern - we look forward to meeting you on one of our group walks or challenge events.

Dave and Lynn Yorston’s 10th and Final Pick & Mix
The event was a great success with very near capacity entries. The full detailed report and stats have already been published on the BBN website.
May we register our deep thanks to everyone past and present who has helped us in the smooth running of this event. Without them, it would never have been possible. Jim Blakelock has now stepped forward to take on this event. Many thanks Jim. We are now taking a back seat – but will see you all in November at Barton-le-Clay.
And again, many thanks for the gift voucher that you presented to us.

Around Ashridge - Thursday 9th July
19 people braved the heat to walk the Ashridge Boundary Trail ….. An intrepid 5 completed the walk. Well done to them, and to leader Di who was well prepared with options for shortening the route to keep everyone safe.  Read more, and photos here  Photos

What lights up a football stadium?
A football match!
Why can’t Cinderella play football?
Because she’s always running away from the ball!
Why did the football quit the team?
It got tired of being kicked around.
How did the football pitch end up in a triangle?
Somebody took a corner!
How do football players deal with their problems?
Tackle them head-on.
How do hens encourage their football team?
They egg the players on!
Why did the chicken get sent off?
For persistent fowl play!
What do you do when you see an elephant with a football?
Get out of the way!
