15ml from Harrold Odell Country Park.
North to Strawberry Hill, a great day although I, the leader, had to run back and pick up my map that I had dropped.
Anyway 14 left the cp at Harrold-Odell Country Park at 9.30am and headed out for Souldrop for morning T break. We walked along the bank of one of the lakes before we turned to leave the country park, and headed out to walk through Odell Great Wood on a wide woodland track with the colours of autumn all around.
We got to Souldrop and had T break in the church at 10.45 then on to to Strawberry Hill, a Wild Life Trust Beds, Cambridgeshire, Northants Nature Reserve {WTBCN} . The WTBCN has just raised 1.5 million pounds to buy the whole of the site so congrats to WTBCN.
A walk through the Nature Reserve. we then headed for Sharnbrook for lunch. Then we followed the River Great Ouse for a while back to Odell and into the Harrold-Odell Country Park and the cars.
The colours of Autumn were all around, and the weather was kind to us. Terry, our ex-chair back from her trip to Ausie, joined us with her stories of their trip. and a new face, Olivia, joined us for the first time. Hope to see you again Olivia.
