Jim R's Walk - Thursday 5th September 2024

Leader: Jim Robionson

A great day was had on Jim R’s walk from Wadenhoe, nr Peterborough with undulating countryside and woodland.
After a bit of running around to park cars safely in the small village 7 hardy walkers set off at 09.35 along the road. We were supposed to have crossed fields but they had just been ploughed making it hard to walk across so we detoured on the road. There was plenty of Red Kites in the air (I counted 10 at one point).
At 11.00 we stopped for morning T break at the church in Lower Benefield then on to Brigstock Park for lunch where there was a cafe. Half hour later we were off again to pass Lyveden New Bield. After a little bit of a history lesson about the house from Jim we headed off for Wadenhoe and the cars.
We had an overcast day with a strong wind but the rain held off. A great walk and a history lesson at a few points along the way. Nice one Jim.
And now Norman would like to say a few words...B#### t### d##### f###### v######
