Bedford Ouse Valley - Sunday 7th July 2024

Leader: Therese Jamin

Our walk followed the Ouse Valley Way in the morning, leaving Bedford along the Ouse and walking through the village of Great Denham to Bromham Mill where where we had a morning break  Then onto Stevington, with windmill and well, followed by lovely views of the river before we reached our lunch stop and a warm welcome at the Cock at Pavenham.  Two familiar faces here, Ian and Clive strode up through the pub garden with a Ramblers Northampton Group.
After lunch we followed the John Bunyan Trail going through Oakley, Clapham and on to Bedford, passing the statue of the great man himself. The walk ended along the Embankment and back alongside the Ouse. As Therese promised, there were no stiles, and no hills... but there was the guaranteed short stretch of mud where the path is wet all year round.

A very enjoyable walk, with a great group of people,  Thank you Therese.
