Outer Aylesbury Ring Pt 2 : Wing to Waddesdon - Thursday 17th August 2023

Trevor but mainly Charlie were our leaders for this section of the Outer Aylesbury Ring.
Myself and Robert met up with Trevor and Charlie at Wing Church. Although the day started overcast and cool, it wasn’t long before the clouds broke and if it wasn’t for a refreshing breeze it would have been quite warm.
We headed out over the fields towards Cublington and then to Whitchurch for a brief stop. Here we lost Robert due to urgent business that needed his attention.
Then to Oving for a lunch stop at the Black Boy pub. North Marston is a pretty little village before ascending Quainton Hill. From here the views across Aylesbury Vale are wonderful.
We descended down and around the edge of Quainton village towards Waddesdon. Many of the footpaths are closed due to HS2 construction so we were forced to walk along the road between Pitchcott and the A41. A busy road and no verge which wasn’t pleasant walking.
At the A41 we diverted through the grounds of Waddesdon Manor to arrive at our destination, The Lion, where much needed refreshments were taken.
Thanks to Trevor and Charlie for a great day walking in the Aylesbury countryside.
