The Tring Boundary Trail - Sunday 8th July 2023

Leader: John Manning

A joint walk with Essex & Herts Group.

The Tring Boundary Trail and what a day we had with the Essex and Herts group.
We started off on time and then suddenly thunder right above us. Ere we go then. it's going to be one of those days. It did start to rain but by the time we left the shelter of the wood it had nearly stopped. While some donned their wet gear, some did not. It was quite amusing watching some trying to put their wet gear on while on the move (Mr Bean came to mind).
We walked for 1.5 hours then had a T break at a cafe where some bought coffee. We lingered for half an hour then on we went.
Lunch was at Wilstone Reservoir where we only got 20 mins. I suppose we stayed too long for T break so now we were paying for it. So anyway after approx 30 mins we were off again, yep we were waiting for Dee.
Then on to Marsworth and something about a Polish Hostel from the war, Stopped at a boozer for an afternoon T break where a delightful young lady who goes by the name of Abby gave me her cake to scoff, very very nice too.
Then the last stretch back to Ashridge. Before we got there though we had a few very steep climbs to finish us off completely.
We left at 0900 and got back to the cars at 1830. A very enjoyable day with the E&H group and we never got lost once.
