IF YOU CAN'T BEAT UM, JOIN UM went off well. Nick let me know a few days earlier that he was coming and would be after a brew and biccies afterwards and Adrian phoned me on the day saying he was on his way so i thought to myself "What a wonderful dayyyy" okay. that's enough of that song.
Five arrived for the walk and at 09.30 we set off heading for the Northampton Washlands (an important wetland area for European birds), then up the hill to go through Little Houghton, then headed south for the Northampton race track.
Just before the village of Denton we stopped for a tea break by a small pond. Then on through Denton and out the other side to cross a couple of fields to skirt Castle Ashby, then north through a couple of small woods towards Cogenhoe. From Cogenhoe we headed back towards Billing Aquadrome. After crossing the river and on Billing Aquadrome Graham, Frank and Humphry left us to head back to the cars and Nick and Adrian took the invite for a brew and biccies on my decking.
A great day, weather was great and everybody enjoyed themselves, or so they told me. (PS just for the books, Nick and Adrian did not have to supply their own tea bags or biccies, oh or milk either.
HUH what was that, you wish you'd come on my walk now cause you thought you had to supply your own tea bags. Oh and another point, maybe it was a good job that not too many came on the walk and took the invite for a brew and biccies on my decking as I would not have had enough cups for everyone (Oopppps I didn't think of that one)
