The Thatcher's Way - 18 miles - Leader: Roy Carter

A lovely day and a super walk through rolling countryside with lots of views - 9 of us joined Roy for the day - it was so good to be meeting up with old friends again - and all day there was plenty of room for social distancing.

Priory Park, Bedford - Cardingon - old Bedford-Hitchin railway line - Greensand Ridge - beautiful thatched cottages at Old Warden - the grounds of Shuttleworth - Ickwell - Northill for our lunch stop - great Covid efficiency at The Crown - fingers crossed as we had our temperatures taken, phew, we were all OK - Moggerhanger - former Bedford-Sandy railway - Willington and back to Priory Park. 

A really great day to be out and a very enjoyable walk, thank you Roy.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
