Pop Up: Messing about at Marston - Thursday 15th Feb 2018

Leader: Adrian Moody
14 walkers.

Our second pop-up walk, courtesy of Adrian. Starting at The Forest Centre, Marston Moretaine, slightly shorter today, 12½ miles in total and another figure of eight, which seem to be popular. Both routes were from one of Adrian`s sunday clubs, the Ise Valley Vagabonds and were walks that are known Permanent Trails and come under the auspices of the IVV (see www.bwf-ivv.org.uk for more info).

Morning jaunt was the “Marston Jubilee Walk” and involved, as advised to us, an ascent of Rectory Wood via the walkers route on the east ridge. An area we don`t use that much, although some of you will have been there on walks that Jake has run. Bit breezy at times but good sunshine. Coffee and cake back at the centre where who should “pop up” for the afternoon but Brian Harwood. Good to see him looking so well and on the way to regaining his fitness.

Afternoon was a walk around Stewartby Lake and the country park (the “Marston Vale Country Park Walk”) with a few different paths taken along the lakeside. Nice views in the sunshine, but still fresh. Nice early finish.

Will we have another pop-up walk  ?
