West-East Rail - Thursday 8th February 2018

Leader: Mike Bowley

20 walkers enjoyed a good day out with Mike, catching the train from Bow Brickhill to Lidlington and then walking back.

The conductor was amazed to see so many passengers getting on his train and then bemused by the number of ticket he had to issue.  Luckily Mike had the money all sorted up front.

Great views from the ridge above Lidlington - the Stewartby chimneys, the Cardington Hangars, Wixams, Sandy Heath Transmitter and the Petsoe End wind farm.

A break at St James Church, Husborne Crawley - Happy Memories for Jake - he married  Carol here on 6th June 1964.

Our lunch stop was at Woburn Sands, with a choice of the Fir Tree ph, café, library or park.

The afternoon saw us walking in the Brickhill Woods before heading back into Milton Keynes along Caldecotte Brook and round the lake to finish.

It was a really enjoyable walk, thank you Mike.
