A great day on the third section of the Rutland Round. The longest day distance-wise, but generally easy going and plenty of sunshine made it all very pleasant.

• The river Chater at Ketton
• Memorial plaque for Belgian Refugees from the First World War, with the name Ketton blanked out in case the Germans invaded in the Second World War and the plaque gave away the location
• Path through our first quarry
• First view of Rutland Water and a very comfortable morning break at the Edith Weston visitor centre
• Old signpost at Empingham
• St Peter's Church at Tickencote with its impressive Norman arches
• Tickencote – the name comes from ticcen describing young goats
• Lunch stop at The Crown at Great Casterton and afternoon break at Pickworth
• Our second quarry, quite stunning.
