Inner Aylesbury Ring - Part 2 - Saturday 11th October 2025

Leader: Trevor Jones

There were just 4 walkers (plus Charlie) for Part 2 of the Aylesbury Ring.
It was a mild, overcast day as we set off from Wendover, to do the clockwise route to Waddesdon. On the way to Ellesborough we once again encountered the gorgeous little Shetland ponies that also featured on Day 6 of the Outer Aylesbury Ring. We popped into the churches at Little Kimble and Great Kimble; well worth a visit if you are in the area. Our tea stop was in the second church. Then on to Kimble Wick and Ford, stopping for lunch at The Hermitage at Dinton.
After lunch, we continued on, passing Dinton Castle, which on the OS Map suggests “ruins” but looked pretty nice from our perspective. At Starveall Farm, the turkeys and geese, were getting themselves ready for Christmas. On over the River Thame, which actually goes through Thame and drains into the Thames. Wasn’t long thereafter, before we reached Waddesdon and completion of that section of the Aylesbury Ring.
Many thanks to Trevor for leading us today and keeping us on track (mostly).
