Bridge Bagging - Saturday 4th October 2025

Leader: Chris Bent

Bagging Bridges led by Chris Bent was a great day but a bit windy at times.
5 hardy walkers left Aldgate station at 9.30 am on time and headed over Tower Bridge, our first bridge of the day. Heading west we crossed over London Bridge, Southwark Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge, Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge, Lambeth Bridge, Vauxhall Bridge and Chelsea Bridge. Here we had lunch in the old converted Battersea power plant, now a shopping mall.
After lunch we headed back towards Tower Bridge crossing over the same bridges that we had crossed before but in reverse order.
The weather was good to us apart from a bit windy in places (well it was a gale at times). On the way back as we headed for Tower Bridge for the last time it had opened for a tall masted boat.
Nice one Chris.

Many thanks to Chris Bent for leading the Bridge Bagging walk in Larndon. Famous 5 started (Fantastic 4 finished) following the Thames from Aldgate to Battersea Park Power Station and return. Up the steps and down again at each bridge was a wonderful cardio workout. At times it was a bit gusty to say the least. Nearly lost my BBN hat at one point. Beautiful sunny sky.
