Highlights of Day 5 of the Jurassic Way

• The weather – it was a brilliant day – we were all expecting the worst after a forecast of a band of rain followed by heavy thundery showers
• More beautiful stone houses, many thatched, in pretty villages; this time the roses were out in the gardens, and cascading over doorways and arches. Every colour you could imagine.
• Mid morning break at Great Easton by the café
• Hearing a cuckoo
• Lovely open countryside, with good views all day.
• The magnificent Harringworth/Welland Valley Viaduct; we went under it in the minibus and then had grand views of it on the walk
• The attractive bridge over the River Welland where we had our afternoon break - on the border between Northamptonshire and Rutland
• Brick built kilns near Barrowden, for iron ore, built during the First World War but never used

Thank you to Graham for leading and to Sara for the organisation. It was another lovely day walking along the JW.
