Great Ouse Valley Walk Going East - Thursday 29th May 2025

Leader: Therese Jamin

Another great day walking on Thursday following Therese around the River Great Ouse heading East.

15 of us left the cp at Fenlake Meadows at 9.30am and headed towards the river, heading for Willington where we had morning T break next to the river. It was a delightful walk along the river with ducks and swans everywhere and birds singing in the trees. There were quite a few Red Kites soaring overhead as well, After T break we followed the R Great Ouse along the Ouse Valley Way to Great Barford where we had our lunch break lazing in the sun next to the river.

After lunch we headed back towards Willington on the other side of a quarry, where we turned left and right and headed for Cople, where we had our afternoon break in a very delightful small wood with buttercups all over the place.  Then through Cardington and on to skirt around a lake in Priory Country Park and on to the finish.

It was a delightful day very warm in the sun and at one point we were walking into a very strong head wind.  Great day Therese.
