Jurassic Way 3 - Watford to Welford - Thursday 10th April 2025

Leader: Di Baldwin

Another great day on the Jurassic Way.
A slightly delayed start – one taxi was late to the pick-up and then got caught in a road closure – but the day just got better and better.

Highlights:
Leaving Watford, easy walking through parkland, and under an ornamental railway bridge.
A new born lamb’s wobbly first steps.
Mid morning break at West Haddon church.
The attractive little village of Winwick and the bendy wall at the Big House.
Our lunch stop on Honey Hill with its panoramic views.
A mile or so along the Leicester Arm of the Grand Union Canal.
Bluebells alongside a steep winding path through woodland.
Finishing our walk by the end of the Welford Arm of the GUC, and ending the day with an enjoyable pint in the garden of the Wharf Inn.

A really great day out – lots of sunshine, blossom everywhere, good paths through lovely undulating countryside.
Thanks to Di for leading, and to Sara for all the organisation.
