Epping Forest, Sunday 30th August 20209 walkers, 17 miles - leader Lonica Vanclay
The first east London walk since pre lockdown - and great to be out and able to chat while we walked. A lovely coolish day. Starting in Loughton, we walked south, west, north and east around and through Epping Forest - sometimes on big tracks and sometimes "bush bashing" through the open forest on barely visible trails. It is a grand place - though not if you don't like trees! And some extraordinary fungi to be seen too. We were amazed to see so many cars at Copped Hall - it was Open Garden day apparently. We were content with the open forest.
