For the 20th year London LDWA will again organise this classic off-road challenge walk through the spectacular Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Surrey Hills.

This is your opportunity to remember the founders of the LDWA, Chris Steer, Alan and Barbara Blatchford, by visiting the beautiful locations associated with them: Blatchford Down, Steer’s Field, Tanners Hatch Youth Hostel, Pitch Hill Toposcope and the old Peaslake Post Office.

The routes, on good footpaths and tracks, offer a wonderful mixture of autumnal forest and downland. In 2015, one-quarter of participants’ fees were donated to local countryside charities. Together with the welcome provided at checkpoints and fine food at the finish, these elements combine to make the Founders Challenge a memorable day out.
