LDWA London has a policy of only circulating its members with notifications about events and other activities which are being organised by, and solely for, LDWA members. This is to prevent email inboxes being swamped with material which may only be of passing interest, and which could distract from the important stuff that everyone needs to know about. But we do get a lot of information which would be of relevance and general interest to LDWA London members, and have decided that we would like to be able to share this in a way which would allow members to browse it in their own time. Normally, we recommend that this sort of material is posted on our "Facebook" page , which is a closed group, only accessible by LDWA London primary and associate members. But we appreciate that "FaceBook" doesn't appeal to everyone, so we have launched this Moderated Forum, as an alternative medium for sharing this information. The sorts of things which can go here include notifications about forthcoming talks, walks and social activities, which are not organised by or endorsed by LDWA, but which are in line with the aims of the London Group. From time to time, we also receive a number of requests to promote sponsored long distance walks in aid of worthwhile causes. These could also be posted here. To prevent a "free for all", though, and ensure that only suitable material is posted, we are moderating all the material before it gets posted here. One of our members, Xxxxxxx Yyyyyyy, has agreed to act as Moderator. So if you have material you would like to share, please email him / her at london.zzzzzzz@ldwa.org.uk for moderation and posting. Please remember to include in your posting a way for members to get in touch with you (e.g. a phone number or email address or website) if they want to find out more. Note also that your posts will be removed after a suitable period of time, for example after the event has passed. We'd welcome feedback on this Forum, so please do email Xxxxxxx withh your views.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
