The 8th Capital Challenge, Saturday 6th April 2024: 28 miles

Description:

Launched in 2017, the Original Route for the Capital Challenge is a 28-mile urban challenge walk organised by the London Group to celebrate the capital. The route is almost completely mud-free and passes a wide variety of shops and cafés along much of its length. There are 4 checkpoints, 2 with simple refreshments; the finish is at a café close to public transport. 28 miles; 200 walkers only.

The event is being held on Saturday 6th April 2024

START, CHECKPOINTS AND FINISH

Start between 0745 and 0845 from Waterloo. Hot drinks will be provided.  All entrants will receive a scannable identity card to present at each checkpoint and finish to track progress.  The start is close to Waterloo Station (mainline and tubes) and a short walk from Embankment Station (District, Circle, Bakerloo and Northern tube lines).

Checkpoints will provide simple refreshments, some will be suitable for vegetarians / vegans, but NO BOTTLED WATER, to reduce the amount of plastic waste this walk generates; instead, the route description will point out water fountains along the way and we will, where possible, provide pitchers of good old hard London tap water at checkpoints.

Finish by 1830. Hot drinks and cake will be provided.
