1: New Members -  Welcome to the folloing new primary members James Auburn and Christine Diaz, and the following new Associate members John Loonam and Carole McGranachan.

2: AGM - I look forward to seeing those who are coming on Wednesday for this year's AGM, which year has the important task of voting on the updates to our constitution, as well as electing the committee for the next year, and dealing with the other business of the Group. See more at

Forthcoming Walk

Another new starting point this week, as we creep closer to the 500 mark for starting points on the Group's walks since the first one in August 1994.

Purley Perambulation

Sat 24th Feb 2024

Start Time
Purley Oaks station (meet at the eastern exit). Train departs London Bridge 08.40, East Croydon 08.58

Suburban walking peters out into an undulating ramble largely following the Vanguard Way to the North Downs, then more undulations back through Marden Park to Caterham, Happy Valley and Farthing Down before descending to the finish at Coulsdon South. If the undulations get too much (there is around 2,000ft/600m of ascent during the day), there is a breakpoints at Caterrham station (14 miles; in zone 6, bus routes also available once we get there)

General Notes
Bring sufficient food and drink for the day as there is nowhere to puirchase anything en route.
