Walk Report

The Beverley Brook Walk, Wednesday 27th April 2016
10 walkers, 8.1 miles - leader Alan Laycock
The walkers met at New Malden Station for what was introduced as a Hill-, Stile- & Mud-free walk. Initially the weather was kind to us passing through Wimbledon Common, and Richmond Park in pleasant evening sun but having reached Palewell Common there were ominous dark clouds in the sky which soon resulted in a mixture of snow and hail. A thunderstorm with very heavy rain followed. Few of us were equipped for such appalling weather and, so it was, a rain sodden party crossed Barnes Common in the dark to disperse in Putney High Street.
