The theme of this route is a connection of the extremities in traversing the Pennines. Although none of the route is within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it links the Forest of Bowland and Nidderdale AONB's as it takes a line through Pendle Country, Haworth, Ilkley Moor, Washburn Valley, Pateley Bridge and the area of Brimham Rocks.
