Black witch logoPendle Way

Lancashire

72 km / 45 miles
A route through contrasting scenery, ranging from moorland to river valleys visiting Barnoldswick, Thornton-in-Craven, Wycoller, Reedley, Newchurch and Pendle Hill.

The latter part of the route has associations with the Pendle Witches, the theme of the 7.5 mile Pendle Witches Walking Trail. The three principal summits in the area, Pendle Hill, Weets Hill and Boulsworth Hill can be climbed as 'Pendle's Three Peaks'.

DECEMBER 2023: A stretch of rotted walkway (along the bank of Pendle water) which includes a broken footbridge, and a dislodged and leaning footbridge (where Moor Isles Clough meets the river Calder), have been reported at, respectively, SD 837356 and SD 822356, which affect the route of the Pendle Way to the north and north west of Burnley.
