Howgills and Limestone Trail

119 km / 74 miles
The Howgills and Limestone Trail is a long-distance walk of 74 miles from Kirkby Stephen to Settle. It is a celebration of Alfred Wainwright's two books; Walks on the Howgills and Walks in Limestone Country. It is a seven-day walk which climbs to the summit of The Calf on the Howgill Fells as well as two of the Three Peaks; Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent.

The walk was devised by David and Heather Pitt and follows their re-creation of Wainwright's Pennine Journey walk, now published as a guidebook.
