Walk Report
On a misty but fine morning, we set off at 9am on Ron's walk from Stokenchurch, heading for Lower Vicar's Farm, Cowleaze Wood, down Shirburn Hill and up Pyrton Hill, where the first picture was taken as the sun was trying to break through. Christmas Common led to the woods near Watlington Park, where we had break, and the ladies' fetching headwear was admired. From there the Ridgeway beckoned and we went to Swyncombe Down and up to Cookley Green for lunch. Re-energized we proceeded to Russell's Water, Pishill, Hollandridge Farm, Queen Wood and Northend for our afternoon break. A steep descent, then ascent through Great Wood to Ibstone Common and Studdridge Farm led us back to the cars.Photos by John Ginty and Graham Croucher
