Oxon 40/20 Feedback 2022

A selection of comments from entrants after the event:

" I would just like to thank everyone who organised and helped at yesterdays event. Everyone was so helpful, kind and everyone had a smile on their face. The Base team were so well drilled, nothing too much trouble.
The food!!! Thank you. Excellent as ever. I particularly liked the paper bags at the checkpoints, they were v useful for a grab 'n'go, and a handy receptacle for the cake..... although the cake in said bag didn't last long at all!!
May I also take my hat off to the gentleman who was seeing us over the A4010 main road. I never realised how fast the traffic was going down there, and he did a truly splendid job in looking after us all. I did see him at the end to thank him, but again, thank you!
And the route.... my goodness, beautiful, tough. You even organised excellent weather!
Many thanks for a truly memorable day
" I’m writing to thank you for organising yet another excellent Oxon 40 event yesterday. Thanks also for arranging great weather yet again - we loved the new route!
I was telling one of your ladies that it was having soup served up from a soup kettle that inspired our group to purchase one ourselves. The Pandemic swiftly put paid to its first outing but it came out this year for our recent Essex Walker from Galleywood Common!
Thanks also for the bag of goodies at the end - warm tiger baguette all round for a late breakfast this morning.
Your route instructions were easy to follow and the GPX file spot on - makes life easy doesn’t it!
Please pass on our thanks to all your hard working, friendly and supportive marshals.
Thanks and Well Done Thames Valley
" Great route yesterday, I thought the catering at both HQ and the checkpoints was spot on.
Thank you and all the team, you all showed how an event should be organised and run.
" Please pass on my thanks to all the Thames valley LDWA who helped run the Oxon 40/20 today.
It was a superb day - lovely food, really friendly team and great route.
Thanks very much
" Very much enjoyed the bluebells in the sun in the highest points of the first loop, and the wide views in the second loop, as well as the fact that the final climb out of Piddington was very gradual (with more bluebells).
It was also a bonus to re-use Longburrow Hall and be able to leave a small bag for contingencies.
