Other News
MARLOW DONKEY
There are some 60 spaces remaining on the Marlow Donkey Challenge Walk on October 4th. This is open exclusively to LDWA members for another month, after which it will open to all and will be likely then to fill quickly. Note that despite it saying in Strider that there will be no waiting list, there will in fact be an automatic waiting system from SI Entries that we are trialling, so no guarantees.
This will of course be dependant on withdrawals and we would ideally confine it to members.
Some members on the long route have offered to help at initial registration for half an hour before they start. This is helpful as it means other marshals don’t need to turn up till the afternoon, avoiding a day long shift, so if any more are willing to do this, we will refund their fees.
JURASSIC HUNDRED MARSHALLING
We are still looking for marshals to help on the TV checkpoint on the Jurassic Hundred (29/30th May 2027) . As we recommend getting accommodation booked early (TV will cover £100 of expenses for each marshals), we hope you can commit early.
Most current marshals are already booked into the Exeter M5 Premier Inn but prices there are likely to rise. Please contact duncan.tvldwa@gmail.com for more details

50th Anniversary - Fun treasure hunt followed by tea
Thames Valley members enjoyed a 'treasure hunt' walk on 12th July, from Goring and Streatley station. The walk was part of the group's 50th birthday celebrations. It was a warm day, the cows didn't like it obviously!
However, 80% of the route was in woods and shade. Thanks to Linda and Louise for organising and leading.
The walk ended with a drink and cake at The Swan. I left the bit I didn't like!
