Celebrating 50 years since the creation of the Thames Valley Local group in 1976

The group is running a number of Events throughout the year of 2026 to celebrate, they are listed below:-

Sun 22nd Feb 2026 - Thames Valley 50th Anniversary Walk

15 mile walk that approximately retraces the inaugural route taken by Bob Ford & John Cassells in 1976.

Sun 26th Apr 2026 - Churches & bluebells in Oxfordshire - 50th Anniversary

15 mile walk to see Bluebells.

Sun 26th Apr 2026 - Bluebells - 50th Anniversary

20 mile walk to see Bluebells.

Sat 30th May 2026 - Blue Moon Walk - 50th Anniversary

A night time walk to hopefully see a Blue Moon.

Sunday 21st June 2026 - A 50K Social Walk

A 50K Social walk, Note Earlier 8:00am start with minimum 3mph pace to get back in daylight.

Sun 12th Jul 2026 - A 12 mile Fun treasure hunt followed by tea - 50th Anniversary

A Treasure Hunt followed by afternoon tea.

Sat 10th Oct 2026 - Shamrock Walk and 50th Anniversary Curry/Party

SATURDAY WALK. There will be, two or three 6 mile loops to finish just before 16:00 . 18 mile walk starts at 09:00, 12 mile walkers joining at Knoll Hill at 11.15 . A slow paced independent walk of 6 mls on the final loop will commence at the same location at 13.00.

Followed by 50th anniversary party in v.h at 16:00, with curry (incl veggie option), games & guest speaker. PRIOR REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED ASAP but no later than 30th Sept stating your walk (or no walk) preference.
